MatPat's Game Lab - Specials (2016)

In this 360 episode, we imagined what it would be like to bring Faith and the characters from Mirror’s Edge into the world Game Lab! We had such an awesome time making this video and it made us feel like we were diving headfirst into a game mission. Don’t blink or you might miss the action!

For this 360 video, you’re ridin’ shotgun for a day out on the track with me and Jordan, aka Captain Sparklez. In this version of the episode, you can not only see the action happening on the track, but you can see all the crew as they laugh at our utter failure to pull off some of our racing moves, as well as what it’s like to be in the passenger seat, on the car bumper, or even flying over the game. Hold on tight and get ready for a pretty wild ride…

For this 360 episode, I wanted to recreate the world of Metal Gear Solid and find out what it would be like to view the game in 360. And what I learned was…it’s awesome! We set up the scenario at a real military supply base and set up a stealth mission for Snake right in the middle of the Game Lab set. Get your cardboard boxes ready!

Whenever you play a “Five Nights” genre game, you always imagine what it would be like to be in that situation in real life. A lot of those types of games even feel pretty immersive, but I’m pretty sure you’ve never experienced anything like this.
