The first edition features two off-duty police men who showed extreme bravery after interrupting an armed robbery at a jewellers in Newark, Nottinghamshire, as well as a look at the the apparent suicide of a mother-of-three.

Episode 2In Prestatyn, Melanie Smith's anger over a neighbourhood dispute leads her to wreak revenge on a family with tragic consequences. And the disappearance of a woman in her mid-fifties leads to a revelation beyond her family's worst nightmares.

Episode 3The barrister examines the cases of Arash Ghorbani-Zarin, who was stabbed to death by his girlfriend's brothers. Thames Valley Police led the investigation into Arash's murder and soon uncovered that his death was the result of a shocking `honour killing'. There is also a look at the case of Violet-Grace Youens, who died after being hit by a car driven at 80mph in a 30mph area, by a driver who had no licence or insurance and who ran from the scene.

Episode 4Barrister Robert Rinder examines the case of Anthony Richardson, who was attacked in broad daylight outside a shopping centre in Grimsby. CCTV footage helped Humberside Police piece together footage leading up to the incident to discover who was behind the fatal attack. Plus, how teenager Carly Fairhurst's decision to become a prison pen pal to convicted killer Darren Pilkington would change her own life and end in tragedy.

Episode 5Barrister Robert Rinder examines the case of Simon Mellors, who murdered his partner Pearl Black in 1999, brutally beating and strangling her. Pearl's family warned that he would strike again if he was ever released by the authorities from prison. Mellors was released - and with tragic consequences in January 2018.
